AFTERNOON TEA
England has been renowned for its tea tradition, but the first tea was actually imported into Amsterdam. In 1610, the Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie first presented the first precious tea leaves to ‘t Huys van Oranje, the Royal Dutch family. The appreciation for the elegant beverage quickly spread, and ever since drinking Afternoon Tea has become a symbol of distinction and hospitality.
We feel honoured to have you as our Guest, enabling us to present our truly “Royal Selection” of the world’s finest teas, accompanied by exquisite delicacies from the Amstel’ s own kitchen. |
