The restaurant of proprietor Joop Braakhekke can best be described as an elegant bistro in a brasserie like style. Both cuisines and design of Le Garage find their inspiration in Paris. We consider it a challenge to introduce the regional cuisines of the world.
Le Garage's three-course menu at a fixed price is the talk of the town. The restaurant thus has a French ambiance with sophisticated couches and mirrors on the wall. Its clientele mainly consists of Dutch celebrities who consider it the ideal place to see and to be seen. The wine list ranges from the renowned classics to contemporary lesser known wines from all corners of the world.
Le Garage is an experience in itself and at least it is something different. And, who knows, you might even run into the Man himself. |

I went to Le Garage for lunch during restaurant week. For it's reputation, I was a bit disappointing. The starter was soup, too salty, too heavy for summer, not original. The main was well cooked and presented a good lunch option. However, the desert was a disaster, overpowering amounts of sugar, with no tastes to counter balance the sweetness. Service was fine, typical in a Dutch establishment. The decor needs to catch up with other estabishments. I failed to see where this place gets it's reputation. |
