Piet de Leeuw is one of the first cafes (1949) in Amsterdam with the still original character of a brown pub.
The culinary reputation of this restaurant was obtained by serving a very tender steak with bread, but by now the kitchen is famous for its excellent meals, which are served with the greatest care.
The in butter fried sole (600 gram) is also well-known by many of our guests.
In this place you will still find the real Amsterdam humor without any fuss. The interior is still authentic: wooden furniture and floorboards, shining beer-engines, a collection of jenever bottles, the still original oil ceiling with hanging lamps of wrought iron, some paintings and many photographs of clients, which once have had a very cosy time in this place. |

I recommended this location to my manager in work as he was having a conference in Amsterdam and wanted a location for dinner for the attendees, so I recommended Piet de Leeuw as I had been here before and found the food fantastic. When I made the booking first I found the person not be very flexible at all in regards to the team arriving a little late etc, all of this aside they had a fantastic time at the restaurant the waiter apparently was a real character and the food was great, so over all the meal went really well, so thank you Piet le Leeuw. |

This is a restaurant you must visit if in Amsterdam.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and the food is simply delicous. The steak is a must have and is cooked to your liking.
I have recommended this place to friends and they have not been disappointed. |
